Transit: Swan Island is the best served industrial employment areas of the region.
- TriMet 85 Swan Island operates weekdays from 5:42am to 5:50pm from the Rose Quarter Transit Center.
- TriMet 72 Killingsworth/82nd Avenue operates seven days/week from before 6am until after Midnight from Clackamas Town Center. 15 weekday peak hour trips to the Shipyards (Dry Dock)
- Swan Island Evening Shuttle operates every 30 minutes, weekdays from 6:26pm to 11:36pm from the Rose Quarter Transit Center. . “By Request” service to Mock's Bottom and the Shipyards (503-757-7152)
- C-Tran operates bus service to the Interstate MAX Yellow Line and the Airport MAX Red Line; All zone fares are good for both C-Tran and TriMet buses and MAX.
Employer subsidies: many Swan Island employers offer partial or full transit pass subsidies; check with your HR department. You may be able to purchase your pass with pretax dollars.

Bike/walk: dozens of Swan Island employees ride bicycles to work, many all year.
While Swan Island‚s sidewalk network has some gaps, most locations can be reached safely via sidewalk either on foot or by bicycle. Portland’s growing network of trails, bike lanes and bike ways make it easy to get to Swan Island via the Going Street sidewalk/multi-use path "Going to the River." Most bike commuters stick to the sidewalk once on the Island; its legal.

Rideshare: Carpools and vanpools are another option to Swan Island.
